In this day and age of financial insecurity, not knowing whether or not you may lose your job, if you even have one, many people are looking for different ways to become financially secure.
One of the most popular ways is to discard the traditional ways of going to work for someone else and working from home on the internet.
But before starting you have to work out if it is really what you are looking for.
To help you do this I would suggest you go through these 8 Golden Rules: Golden Rule 1: What is the reason why you want to become an Internet Marketer? Some people might see adverts of others driving a smart car, or living in a huge house, or taking an exotic holiday somewhere.
Others might just have been lured by the dollar or pound signs before their eyes and hoped they could join the 'get-rich-quick' set.
What are your reasons? Set your own goals remembering that you can always set new goals once you have reached the initial ones.
Golden Rule 2: Decide how much time you have to spend on your new venture.
Before you begin you must decide if you have time to become an Internet Marketer.
Whether you are in full or part time employment, or unemployed you will need to work out for yourself exactly how much time you could put into the business.
You may find that you just don't have enough spare time to commence this new venture.
One thing that you need to bear in mind is that it may take a month or so to actually set up your business if you wish to really succeed.
During this time you must not expect to earn anything.
Golden Rule 3: No face to face - no business.
For your business to be successful you need to make contact with the people you will be working with.
Many people think that working from home means you are working alone but this is not so.
Many people are now realising the advantages of working with others in the same line of work and becoming part of a Community where everybody helps each other.
It is no longer a business where you seek to keep all your business knowledge to yourself.
Finding someone who has already attained or is on the way to attaining the level you are seeking, and who is willing to share with you their knowledge is the best way to ensure you will be successful.
Many people now link up, if not in person, at least by phone or video link.
Golden Rule 4: A negative attitude gets you nowhere.
A positive attitude produces positive results.
Check out reading or video resources online and see what others have to say and what you can learn from them.
A positive attitude also produces a good hard work ethic.
Remember this is not a way to make easy money quickly, rather it takes time and hard work to build a successful business.
Golden Rule 5: Speak to someone.
If you have any questions then speak to someone who can give you the answers.
This could be your mentor or coach or even a company, but someone who is already working in the business.
They are there to help you.
Golden Rule 6: Speak to immediate family and friends.
So often we need to sound out the thoughts and opinions of those closest to us, yet these people can be the ones who know you best and may try to put you off as they think they are protecting you.
Show them what you have found on the internet - your reasons why you aim to become an Internet Marketer and get them on board.
Let them understand you have done your research and you know what you are doing and would like their support in this new venture.
Golden Rule 7: Consider your budget.
Many people can afford to commence internet marketing and be able to pay for all the upfront costs and extra advertising as well.
Many others may find this a struggle but to run a successful Internet Marketing Business you do have to speculate to accumulate.
Things such as advertising can be done without costs initially using various social networks etc.
Work out what your budget is and to the best of your ability stick to it.
Eventually you will earn enough when you can spend more on the business.
Golden Rule 8: Do not procrastinate.
You need to take action without too much indecision.
If you don't take the first step now, when will you? If you really believe that this is for you then go for it now.
