How do I Replace the IBM R50P Laptop Screen?

1). Turn off your IBM laptop and remove the battery from the bottom of the computer.
2). Remove all screws along the plastic frame surrounding the LCD screen and set them aside.
3). Pull the frame off of the screen by the sides and corners. The screen inverter will now be exposed just below the screen.
4). Unplug the cables from either end of the rectangular inverter board.
5). Pull the LCD screen slightly away from the back panel and unplug the ribbon cable that connects at the back of the screen.
6). Remove the screws from the metal brackets on either side of the screen.
7). Pull the screen out of the brackets and fit a new one in its place. Plug the ribbon cable into the port in the back of it and reassemble in the reverse order you took it apart.
