Incorporate your favorite elements of the winter season into your winter wedding's theme, colors and style. Your wedding doesn't have to include white and silver or red and green, unless you want it to. The decorations you choose should reflect you and your betrothed, and the things you both enjoy. - Some halls and venues may be decorated in red and green for the holiday season. Use a red and green color scheme if you want to expand on those decorations, or simply use the colors for a festive effect. Clear cylinders can be filled with bright red and green Christmas bulbs for simple centerpieces. Poinsettia plants are another easy centerpiece that incorporates red and green. Build candle centerpieces using gold candle holders, white candles and a wreath complete with holly berries or red and green tinsel wrapped around the base of the candle holders.
- Paint twigs or willow branches silver and place them in a large, clear vase or container. Drape the branches with blue lights or bulbs. Or, paint the branches blue and use white lights and a silver container. Large snow globes with snowmen, snowflakes or a picture of the two of you can be surrounded by fake snow, votive candles or blue and white flowers woven together as a wreath. Large bouquets of white flowers can fill blue or silver vases. Hang white snowflakes dusted with silver glitter from the ceiling.
- Use cream-colored table linens with burgundy linen napkins and tulle bows tied around cream chair covers. Burgundy- and cream-colored roses can fill crystal vases with burgundy tulle twisted around white lights encircling the vases. Sprinkle burgundy-colored rose petals on cream-colored table clothes surrounding a cream-colored candle or flower arrangement. Or, use burgundy crystals or water pebbles to fill a clear vase containing cream-colored flowers.
- Use a gold runner to dress up cream table cloths, tie gold tulle or satin bows around cream-colored chairs and use gold napkin rings to hold cream-colored linen napkins. Set the table with cream-colored dinnerware, gold cutlery and gold-rimmed stemware. Gold candle holders can hold cream-colored candles surrounded by gold confetti that look like gold flakes. Tie gold ribbon around vases full of cream-colored flowers.
- Some decorations can complement any color scheme or winter theme. Balloons, streamers, tinsel or tulle in your wedding colors can drape the walls or hang from the ceiling. Line the dance floor or ceiling with strings of miniature white lights. Hang large wreaths or drape ivy around the reception hall. Ice sculptures can grace each table, the cake table, the head table or any combination you choose.
