ID Card Security Laminates

Adding lamination to the application will increase the card's life, secure the data on the cards, and increase the security of your offices. There are several types of generic security hologram material and clear (no hologram) laminates. Many business opt for the convenience of a generic material, whereas others prefer the enhanced security of a custom laminate.

Two diffrent typs of laminate materials categories, Hard coat (patch style) and Thin film (or Soft Coat). Hard coat lamination assures superior protection against color fading and scratching. 1mil Hard coat material stands up to the rigorous durability testing regularly performed by driving license authorities globally. Hard coat material is available in a standard 1mil (.001 inch) or custom .5 mil (.0005 inch) thickness.

Thin film laminate is unique, because it is the only material on the market that is designed to adhere to the ribbon's overlay panel applied by the print head. Therefore, it provides enhanced dye migration and fading protection. The Soft coat material can be applied edge-to-edge and offers up to 500 images per roll versus the Hard coat's 255 images per roll.

Custom security features can be designed into both Hard coat and Soft coat material and are common for clients interested in using their cards as visual security passes - sometime called "flash passes".

Safety Films

Burglars hate being caught.Delay entry, and even a professional burglar will flee and look for an easier target.

When you install Safety Films security laminate glass coatings, you take away a thief's easiest points of entry. When laminate-treated glass is broken, the sheet of security laminate and the anchoring system hold the glass fragments in place, creating an impenetrable barrier. This smashed-glass barrier dissipates the force of any further blows, denying the burglar entry.

Used in conjunction with alarm systems and good locks, window security laminates provide effective protection for your home, business, or industrial facility. While nothing can guarantee to keep criminals out of your home or business, eliminating the speed and ease of entry that they rely on is usually enough to keep you from becoming their next victim.

Safety Films security laminates turn vulnerable glass into "invisible walls". Security laminates will help you to protect:
  • existing and new glass
  • doors, basement windows, garage windows-everywhere that glass is a possible point of entry
  • homes, offices, retail stores, commercial & industrial properties, churches, hotels, etc.
  • police cars, executive vehicles, private automobiles, and buses
  • government buildings

Safety Films security laminates are manufactured from 2,3, or 4 layers of flexible polyester film, bonded together to form virtually invisible scratch-resistant coatings. The laminated glass can be safely cleaned with any non-abrasive glass cleaner. Unlike burglar bars, Safety Films security laminates are virtually invisible. Best of all, your sliding and catch-style windows will still open normally after the security laminate is applied, so you're not trapped inside your building the way you would be with ugly burglar bars.
  • A single break-in can equal:
  • damage to carpets & furniture from broken glass
  • possible weather damage
  • expensive & unsightly boarding up
  • losses not covered by insurance (e.g. heirlooms and sentimental possessions)
  • downtime
  • lost data
  • lost peace of mind through stress and feelings of violation & vulnerability
  • increased insurance premiums

Safety Films security laminates can help eliminate all of the above. Since the film usually survives the attack intact, you won't have to arrange temporary boarding-up to protect the building's contents until the glass can be replaced.

To help protect carpets and other valuables from fading or solar damage, all our security laminate products provide 98-99% UV reduction. It also create a 1R insulation effect that helps reduce your heating bills.

Safety Films security laminates are cost-effective glass protection. Many home and business installations have cost less than the deductible on our customer's insurance!
