How to Install Versailles Roman Shades

    Inside Mount

    • 1). Hold the shade's headrail against the top of the window casement and lower the shade to make sure the shades are long enough to cover your window. If the shade is long enough, use a level to make sure that when the headrail is screwed into the casement it is straight across.

    • 2). Hold the shade's headrail against the top of the window casement and use a power drill to drill 1/16-inch holes through the headrail holes into the casement.

    • 3). Secure the shade to the casement in these holes, using the mounting screws and screwdriver. Make sure, once again, that the headrail is level before tightening the screws completely.

    Outside Mount

    • 1). Mount the shades on the outside of the window casement by holding the headrail level against the window frame or wall and use a pencil to mark the location of the headrail slots.

    • 2). Hold each bracket (included with your Versailles Roman shades) against the window frame and use a pencil to mark where two (diagonal) screw holes should be drilled.

    • 3). Line up the brackets with the headrail's center slots and drill holes; then push the headrail up into the brackets. The posts on the brackets should fit in the slots in the headrail.

    • 4). Tighten the wing nuts to secure the headrail to the bracket.
