How to Install XP Pro OEM
- 1). Insert your Windows installation disc into the CD drive. This is labeled as such.
- 2). Enter your computer's BIOS and set your computer to boot from your CD drive. As your computer boots up, a message appears that says "To enter BIOS, do this..." or "To enter your computer's setup, do that...". Press that button and enter BIOS. Look for your computer's boot order and move your CD-ROM to the top. Save and exit BIOS.
- 3). Reboot your computer and wait for it to detect the Windows CD. When it takes you into the Windows installer, accept the various user agreements that appear on screen and continue until you reach the partition screen.
- 4). Set up a partition for Windows. To replace an operating system and delete everything on your computer, delete your current partition. To set up Windows on a computer that has never been used before, create a new partition. To install Windows and save what is already on the drive, install Windows onto the existing partition (which will be the one labeled C:).
- 5). Allow the installer to finish and reboot. When a second installer appears, fill out the various screens for your name, time zone and so on. Windows then completes the installation on its own.
