The stylish and compact Sony Ericsson Spiro is soon to be available.
This handset is part of the manufacturers new "Walkman" range of mobile handsets, offering great looking phones with superb audio playback capabilities.
In terms of connectivity, the Spiro is a well specified phone.
For people who always want to keep in touch, whether it be via e mail or social networking sites, the handset is well equipped.
EDGE, 2G Network, GPRS, GSM 900/1800 and GSM 850/1900 are all supported, making keeping up to do date a simple affair.
And in acknowledgement to the popularity of Social Networking sites, the Spiro comes pre loaded with applications for both Twitter and Facebook, an obvious attraction to perhaps the younger consumer.
With regards to local connectivity the phone features a micro USB for connecting to a pc or laptop in addition to Bluetooth 2.
0 with A2DP, ideal for use with a range of bluetooth compatible products.
Just 5MB of internal memory is available on the Spiro, but the added microSD card slot means the user can add additional memory up to 16GB as desired.
The Sony Ericsson Spiro is a well designed mobile handset.
Thanks to its slider style design, the overall measurements of the phone are very compact at 92mm tall and 48mm wide.
The depth however is quite deep at 17mm, this depth is required though to house the slide out numeric keypad.
When the screen is slid upwards the keypad is revealed.
It is a basic 12 button numeric keypad, which also allows the composition of text messages thanks to the T9 predictive text input system.

2" TFT screen capable of showing a 320 x 240 resolution and displaying 256,000 colours.
Not being a touchscreen, navigation is performed via a circular button beneath the screen which also doubles up as the controls for the phones in built music player.
Other buttons located on the front of the handset perform the start/end call functions.
The user interface for the phones Audio playback facility is incredibly easy to use and amongst the best currently available.

0 Walkman software supports album artwork and allows you to search for a track by artist, album or genre.
As is fairly common your own playlists can also be created.
In addition to the above facilities the Audio player also features a useful feature call TrackID, which record a snippet of a song then searches the internet to bring you information on the track.
The Sony Ericsson Spiro is a great handset.
Its looks, social networking capabilities and audio player are the main attractions, and the phone will appeal to anybody not wanting a smartphone or simply upgrading from an entry level handset.
