Omega 3 has once been called a miracle nutrient and this is one of the reasons why it can be good to know the ideal omega 3 sources. Omega 3 is one of these fatty acids that the body can't create yet is used for so many things. One of the biggest benefits of omega 3 is that it can counteract omega 6. This may sound confusing however these two substances are very different. Omega 6 is a nutrient that is actually very common in many foods and humans eat tons of it.

The problem is that too much omega 6 can have some bad effects on health. For instance health scientists have linked excess omega 6 with the creation of inflammation. Inflammation is the process in which the immune system targets and fights healthy tissues and cells. So by consuming more omega 3 someone can lessen the amount of omega 6 in their system and reduce inflammation. Another one of omega threes benefits that can be helpful is with arthritis. Health experts believe that inflammation is the main cause of the pain of this disease. So when someone reduces inflammation with omega 3 intake they usually reduce the pain of this disease.

A main difficulty with omega 3 is that it can be a challenge to get. It's not like the food is rare it's just that many people just don't like the taste of many of the sources of omega 3. For instance a major source is fish. Not only can the taste be a problem as well as the smell of it on someone's breath but there can be some health concerns as well. There is a metal called mercury which is frequently found in the water that fish swim in. This metal collects in the fish and when we eat it we also get mercury. Mercury poisoning can cause liver, brain damage as well as cancer. Another source is something called brussel sprouts. I don't know about you but I hate the taste of brussel sprouts.

Walnuts are another top food that contains this fatty acid however there is a problem with it. This problem is that regular consumption of this nut usually ends in weight gain and this can cause some health problems as well. Cauliflower is another food that I do not like the taste of but can be high in omega 3. Other foods that you might not have heard of could be cooked soybeans, dried ground cloves and flaxseeds. So as you can see it's no wonder many people are deficient in this substance.

The good news is that there is a way to cheat and get omega 3 without tasting this food and getting some of the health consequences associated with some of them. This solution is called fish oil. However a low quality fish oil can actually have material in it that can harm someone. This is why it's important to know how to tell the difference between good fish oil and one that should be thrown in the garbage can. To learn how someone can learn this difference we recommend taking a look at a free guide that goes over the industry. You can view this free guide by clicking on [http://increasemyhealth.net/].
