How to Remove a Filter From a Noritz Hot Water Heater
- 1). Turn off the hot water valve on the Noritz heater. These are usually located beneath where the Noritz is installed, but the location may differ from installation to installation. Rotate the knob on the end of the valve to cut the water supply.
- 2). Open up the faucets to all the hot water taps in the house. This will drain any existing hot water from your water pipes, eliminating backflow into the water heater.
- 3). Wait approximately two hours for the Noritz heater and any water inside to cool.
- 4). Hold a bucket underneath the Noritz tankless water heater where the inlet and outlet drain plugs are located. Use a pair of pliers to loosen the inlet and outlet plugs. Use the bucket to catch any water that runs out.
- 5). Remove the filter by pulling the drain plug assembly out of the inlet. The filter is attached to the back of the plug.
