    Aluminum Foil

    • 1). Line a nonmetal container or bowl large enough to submerge the silverware with aluminum foil. The shiny side of the aluminum must face up toward you.

    • 2). Set the flatware on top of the aluminum foil but avoid allowing any of the utensils to touch.

    • 3). Pour 1/4 cup of washing soda over the flatware.

    • 4). Pour boiling water over the flatware until you fill the container completely. Stir the solution so that the washing soda dissolves.

    • 5). Allow the flatware to sit for 15 minutes. Remove the flatware with tongs, rinse each utensil and dry the flatware with a soft washcloth.

    Vinegar

    • 3). Allow the flatware to soak for two to three hours.

    • 4). Remove the utensils and rinse them under cold water.

    • 5). Dry the flatware with a soft washcloth.
