Biography:
 

Lauren Koslow may be a thriving actress, today, with three decades of experience under her belt, but she didn't originally aspire to that career. “I started out in the arts, when I was in college,” notes the Boston native. “Then, I kind of let it all go, because I got into theater.”

Koslow studied at the University of Massachusetts before transferring to Virginia Tech, where she obtained a theater degree specializing in costume design.

Upon graduation, she began working with a summer stock theater company as a costume designer. Koslow’s future, however, took an abrupt turn, when she was asked to audition for the role of Vera in the play Ten Little Indians. It didn’t take long before she segued into acting full-time, landing roles in productions of Dial M for Murder, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and The Importance of Being Earnest.

In the early 1980s, Koslow moved to Los Angeles to pursue her acting dreams. Before long, she landed a role in the Rick Springfield movie, Hard to Hold, as well as guest spots on several primetime TV shows.

While in acting class, Koslow met a producer from The Young and the Restless, who suggested she audition for the soap. Koslow won the role of Lindsey Wells and met her future husband Nick Schillace, who was one of the show’s makeup artists.

Koslow’s daytime career was off and running. After exiting Y&R, the actress landed the role of fashion designer Margo Lynley on The Bold and the Beautiful. Then, in 1996, she was cast as Kate Roberts on Days of Our Lives.

Off camera, Koslow is the devoted mother of two: son Zachariah and daughter Milikate. The brood resides on a farm in Northern California with a menagerie of pets from dogs to chickens to horses.

In her free time, Koslow enjoys horseback riding, painting, cooking and tending to her farm crops. She also maintains a strong passion for fashion.
