- 1). Use any personal connections you may have. This is the best way to get your idea to the people who can use it. Consider friends, family members and colleagues in this process. Ask them to pass the information along on your behalf.
- 2). Submit your idea to the NFL directly. The NFL operates its own website, as well as Facebook and Twitter accounts. By posting your idea for a practice drill on one of these locations, the information may get to the right people.
- 3). Call, email or write a representative for your favorite team. NFL teams have large front offices, with positions like community outreach and media relations. These personnel may be able to forward your idea to the coaching staff. Visit your favorite team's website to email staff members.
- 4). Attend a coaching clinic hosted by a coach from your local NFL team. This is the best way to get one-on-one time with an NFL coach, since by paying the enrollment fee for the clinic, you're paying for a piece of the coach's time. Mention your idea to him and demonstrate the idea if he asks.
- 5). Pass on your idea to a member or coach of a high school or college football team. These individuals may have more connections to NFL coaches than you do. They can also tweak your idea to improve upon it. Coaches at various levels often share ideas, and although you may not get credit for it, this approach could help your idea turn into reality.
