Marble Tile: A General Guide
It is not advisable to use colored marble tiles for flooring in areas that experience high traffic such as the driveway, kitchen, and other similar areas of the house. The tiles may be discolored because of heavy use of these areas. The marble tile is acidic, made up of limestone and therefore acetic substance like vinegar, orange juice, tomato juice, and other similar liquids and substances should not be brought in contact with marble tiles. These types of substances can cause stain on marble tiles. There are neutral pH cleaning solutions available in the market which can be used for cleaning the marble tile floor. Even mild soap and water are very good for removing the soft stain from the marble tiles.
The glazed tiles do not require so much of attention as matte finishes do. They tend to attract water spots and therefore water should not be allowed to sit for a long time. Water should be wiped off and the floor can be cleaned with a dry cloth.
Marble tile flooring is available at major home improvement centers nationwide. However, it is strongly recommended to seek the educated advise of highly trained professionals usually found at your local specialized dealership.
