EPA Omega3 and Why This is Not the Best One For Maintaining Good Health

EPA omega3 is one of the two important fatty acids that is required by us to maintain good health.
It is the other one, DHA however that recent studies have shown to be responsible for most of the health benefits, especially heart and brain health.
Previously it was thought that EPA omega3 was the main one but it is now proven beyond doubt that it is in fact DHA.
Part of the reason is that if the body requires more EPA then it can easily convert DHA to it but this does not work the other way round.
When you consider the over 30% of our brains is composed of DHA omega3, it is no surprise just how important it is! The problem is almost all the supplements available today are EPA still as it is cheaper to produce.
These omega3's are called essential because our body cannot manufacture them and it is estimated that over 90% of us are deficient in them mainly due to the decline in the consumption of fish due to the contamination.
With quite incredible benefits including prevention of heart disease, lower cholesterol, treatment of arthritis and cancer prevention just for starters, it just shows how important it is to increase our intake.
Due to restrictions on eating fish, especially cold water oils ones that are high in both EPA omega3 and DHA, experts advise a daily distilled fish oil supplement as the ideal solution.
With so many poor quality ones available, it is vital to select with care.
For a start any oil you choose should be molecularly distilled to remove impurities like arsenic, mercury and lead.
This process separates out the toxins and increases the omega3 amount by up to three times as much.
A ratio of 2:1 DHA to EPA omega3 is recommended to get the maximum health rewards with at least 250mg of DHA per capsule.
With the right daily supplement you can soon start to enjoy all the rewards with none of the risks.
