How to Make a Really Creative Bracelet Out of String
- 1). Measure and cut seven strands of string to 60-inches in length each. Choose a different color for each piece of string. Fold each piece of string in half to make a total of fourteen strings.
- 2). Knot the fourteen working strings together on one end approximately 1-inch from the ends. Ensure that the knot is on the end of the strings that contain the fold to result in fourteen hanging strings.
- 3). Set aside one piece of string to act as your wrapping string. Set aside two more strings to act as your crisscross strings. Make a knot with the wrapping string around the rest of the strings directly below the end knot.
- 4). Wrap the wrapping string around the bunch of strings tightly. Do not leave any spaces that would make the underlying strings visible. Continue to wrap until 3/4-inch of the bracelet is wrapped in the wrapping color. Tie a knot with the wrapping string at the 3/4-inch mark.
- 5). Hold one of the crisscross strings in each hand and tightly crisscross the string around the wrapped bracelet section. Create three to five crisscrosses down the length of the wrapped section.
- 6). Choose a different string from the string bunch to act as the new wrapping string. Hold the crisscross strings in place and begin wrapping the new string color 3/4-inch down the length of the bracelet. Create a knot at the 3/4-inch mark with the wrapping string.
- 7). Repeat the wrapping and crisscross process until you have reached the end of the bracelet. Choose a different wrapping color after every 3/4-inch. Create crisscrosses over each section with the crisscross strings.
- 8). Tie a knot approximately 1-inch from the ends of the bracelet. Connect a bracelet clasp to each end of the string bracelet. Secure the knots with a dab of hot glue and allow 5 minutes for the glue to dry.
- 9). Thread a sewing needle with thread. Insert the sewing needle through the center of a bead and into the knot created at the end of each wrapped section. Pull tightly and insert the needle back through the bead and into the knot. Repeat three times to secure the bead to the knot. Continue with a new bead on each knot along the length of the bracelet.
