How to Fix a Eureka Vacuum Cleaner
- 1). Unplug the electrical cord.
- 2). Slide the adjustment lever on top of the vacuum base over to the lowest setting. Lower the handle so it is on the lowest setting.
- 3). Turn the vacuum over so you are looking at the bottom of the vacuum and undo the screws that hold the vacuum cover in place, using a screwdriver. Remove the vacuum cover and set it out of the way.
- 4). Tilt the switch pedal forward and slide a screwdriver under the brush roller to lift it out of the vacuum base. Remove any strings or debris from around the roller as well as taking the old belt off the brush and from around the motor shaft.
- 5). Place a new belt around the brush roller and slide the roller back into position. Lower the switch pedal to lock the brush roller in place.
- 6). Stretch the new belt over the motor shaft and place the vacuum cover back over the base. Secure the cover with screws and a screwdriver.
- 7). Turn the vacuum back over, moving the adjustment lever back into position. Plug the electrical cord back in.
