Configure Your Tablet PC to Boot from CD

Turn off your Tablet PC. To boot your Tablet PC from a CD, your computer must be restarted. You cannot boot from a CD by waking your computer from standby or hibernation.

Turn on your Tablet PC and follow the instructions to enter the BIOS. You will need to press the indicated button, usually the escape key or one of the F-keys, to enter the BIOS. If you are unsure which key to press to enter the BIOS, check the manual for your Tablet PC.

Ensure that your CD drive is selected as the first boot device. If your hard drive is set as the first boot device, change the order so that the Tablet PC first tries to boot from the CD drive. Be sure to save changes made in the BIOS, but do not exit the BIOS.

Start Your Tablet PC From a Bootable CD

Insert a bootable CD in the CD drive. You can boot from a CD of an operating system or a bootable CD that you have created previously.

Exit the BIOS. This will restart your Tablet PC with the new settings applied to the BIOS. If you have changed the settings correctly, your Tablet PC will boot from the CD instead of trying to boot from the operating system installed on your hard drive.
