Outdoor Fountain Instructions
- 1). Prepare a level area for the outdoor fountain. An ideal location would be an unshaded portion of the yard to reduce the amount of falling plant matter in the fountain.
- 2). Read all fountain pump instructions and comply with any cautions. Leave the pump unplugged until the fountain is fully assembled. If the fountain pump has a switch on the housing, turn the switch on.
- 3). Center the basin in the desired location. Place the fountain pump in the center of the basin for a symmetrical effect or place it toward the back or to one side to accommodate any ornamental items. Water movement takes place directly above the pump.
- 4). Insert the tubing or fountain head in the hole in the top of the outdoor fountain pump. Check that the tubing or fountain head reaches to within two inches of the top of the container or to the water level in the container, whichever is lower. To use a fountain head with the outdoor fountain to create a specific water effect, add enough tubing to raise the fountain head to the desired height. Cut off the excess tubing and insert the fountain head in the installed tube.
- 5). Add water to the outdoor fountain basin to the desired level.
- 6). Add decorative rocks, a statue or other ornamental items. Check that the vents in the fountain pump remain unobstructed. Blocked fountain pump vents or allowing the fountain to run dry can cause the pump to burn out.
- 7). Dry your hands before plugging in the fountain pump.
