After-Hours Law in California
- Police officers are allowed to temporarily detain a minor that has violated curfew laws, pursuant to California Welfare and Institutions Code Section 625.5(d). Officers are also allowed to transport the minor back to his residence.
- Upon a California minor's second curfew violation, parents may be held liable for administrative and transportation costs associated with returning the minor, pursuant to California Welfare and Institutions Code Section 625.5(d).
- California's juvenile courts may establish a habitual curfew violator as a ward of the court, pursuant to California Welfare and Institutions Code Section 601(a).
