- 1). Click on the gray icon in the bottom right corner of any Facebook screen that says "Chat."
- 2). Click on the "Options" tab, located just above your list of online friends.
- 3). Click "Play Sounds for New Messages" in the "Options" menu. A check mark will appear next to the option, letting you know sounds have been enabled. If you want to turn sounds off again, just click on the same line again to remove the check mark and silence sounds.
