- 1). Turn on the computer and click on the "Try AOL" icon on the screen. If you do not have one, open your "Start'" menu by clicking on the icon at the bottom left of your screen. Once the menu is open, you may be able to find an AOL icon listed in the programs list. If not, click on the folder that is labeled Online Services. You will find AOL (listed as Try AOL) in this file.
- 2). Click on the "Try AOL" link. You will receive a prompt to install the AOL install program, click "Continue." Once you click on this, the AOL installer will take over, choosing the best means of connecting to the Internet and prompting you for information.
- 3). Enter your email address and password if you already have an AOL account, or follow the prompts to create a new one.
