How to Change the Belt on a Dirt Devil 5200 Vacuum Cleaner
- 1). Remove the nozzle guard by unplugging the vacuum and turning it over. The base should be flat. Remove the two screws near the rollers. If you see two more screws at the back of the nozzle guard, remove them too. Release the two hooks on the nozzle guard by pushing outwards. Push up on the back of the nozzle guard to release it.
- 2). Remove any belt debris, and lift and remove the brush roll.
- 3). Pass the brush roll through the belt, and slot the belt into the part of the brush roll where there aren't any bristles. Lock the belt around the motor shaft.
- 4). Re-insert the brush roll into the side holder using the arrows on the brush end caps as a guide. Turn the brush roll by hand to make sure that the belt moves freely, then reassemble the nozzle guard, matching the tabs to the slots on the nozzle base first.
