How to Change the Boot Drive on a Dell Dimension 4400
- 1). Power on the Dell Dimension 4400 or reboot the machine if it is already running.
- 2). Press the "Del" key on your keyboard when the blue "Dell" logo appears on the screen. If the setup screen doesn't appear, you may have waited too long to press the key -- restart the Dell Dimension 4400 and try again.
- 3). Press the "Right Arrow" key on your keyboard repeatedly until the "Boot" menu at the top of the setup screen is highlighted.
- 4). Press the "Down Arrow" key on your keyboard until the type of drive you want to change -- such as "Hard Disk Drives" -- is highlighted, then press "Enter."
- 5). Select a drive using the arrow keys to navigate through the list. Use the "+" key to move to the top of the list.
- 6). Press the "Escape" key on your keyboard.
- 7). Press the "F10" key to save your changes. Restart the Dell Dimension. The new boot drive will take effect immediately.
