Corporate Blogs Drive Traffic to Your Site

"What's wrong with my website?" "Why am I not getting good traffic?" "Do I have to spend more money on search engine optimization?" "Isn't this web stuff all voodoo? "I think I'm just throwing my money away.
" These are some of the thoughts that good business people have when they consider the poor performance of their websites.
There's certainly a lot of confusion about what would make a good next step to help improve results.
Having been in the internet business since the mid-90s, it's quite normal to see business owners and executives at a loss for understanding.
After-all the internet is not their business.
Their business is their business! When the technology is constantly changing, evolving, it's enough for those of us on the inside to keep up.
How can we expect someone who doesn't live and breathe the internet to do so? Fortunately we have a rare moment in internet history upon us right now.
A number of pieces have come together which make the next step more obvious than ever before.
That is, for any business that has not taken this step already, it's time to get a blog! A couple years ago I would have recommended against a blog.
In fact, I did suggest that blogging would be a waste of time for a serious business.
Who would want to read the rantings of your business? And, perhaps more importantly, who in your business would have the time to post blog articles that aren't getting read? Well, times have changed! Blogs are generally accepted.
People like the casual information provided.
The search engines love the information and look quite favorably on blog sites.
That means blog sites can achieve high search results positions.
Now is the time to jump on this bandwagon! With a blog your business can quickly gain 3 major benefits:
  1. Higher Organic Search Rankings Across All Major Search Engines! When you post articles on a regular basis and you use relevant keywords, search engines will reward you with higher positions in natural search engine results.
  2. Drive Traffic with More Site Hits and Page Views! When web surfers find your blog, you'll get more traffic.
Increased traffic to your website translates to increased awareness and increased sales!
  3. Enhanced Credibility with Your Customers and Prospects! As your customers and visitors read your blog they will become more aware that you are an expert in your field.
As a result, your customers and prospects will consider you, your products, and your services as highly credible.
All that is left is for you to close the deal.
There are more benefits, but I think you'll see that these three already create quite a case in support of blogs.
So now what?Fortunately, you've got options.
First, you could check to see if the company that put your existing website together can set you up with a blog too.
Of course you should only consider this option if you like working with them.
Second, you could find another company to do the work.
You could go to your favorite search engine and look for something like "Business Blog Packages" or "Build a Corporate Blog" or even "Start My New Blog.
" Look until you find a company that fits your style.
Third, you could create your own blog.
If you have time on your hands, this can be a good option.
Of all the web-related technologies available, setting up a blog may be among the least technically challenging.
How to do that can be an article topic for another day.
Regardless of how you get the blog, be sure that your blog links back to your existing website.
That's key for driving business.
