Yes. She did it. Teri Hatcher took it all off for her fans on Facebook. She took off her makeup that is. Of course, you knew this article was about makeup, not clothes

Now, let's get to the Naked Truth behind it. Teri Hatcher, Hollywood sex symbol is a brave, bold, and beautiful woman. There's no question about it. But as hard as it may seem, let's try to look beyond her sex appeal to report the other part of the story. Let's appreciate how smart Teri Hatcher is and how savvy, too. I'm speaking of being social media savvy and internet marketing savvy.

The moment I heard (not saw) the 45-year old actress posted photos of herself fresh out of the shower on her Facebook page, I immediately asked myself, "Why? Why would she do such a thing?" I know it is to get people talking (and looking) but really why do it? This was a personal event going beyond when Teri Hatcher appeared on the TV series, Seinfeld, as Jerry's girlfriend, Sidra, in the Breast Implant episode.

The news of her 8-photo spread, spread across the internet a few days ago like a genuine Southern California wild fire in August. Allegedly, the self-portraits taken in her bathroom showing her in only a towel were posted online to counterract the critics who keep suggesting her body is a professionally enhanced "Made for TV" piece of work.

The Desperate Housewives star was apparently quite desperate to prove the point to all women that she is in fact All-Natural! (Like guys weren't expected to check out the photos, too?)

Titled "Oy with Botox," the actress wrote about how she was out of the bath getting ready for bed. She was thinking about all of the critics of her face. She then wanted to show herself as having undergone no surgery or implants. Her premise  was to show herself to reveal some truths about beauty to make it easier for all women to see and know their own beauty.

Teri Hatcher praised Julia Roberts for showing a similar vein in her forehead in the new movie, "Eat Pray Love." She also spoke of the magic of professional lighting that all Hollywood celebrities rely upon.

I agree. Lighting is everything in Hollywood. I also agree Teri Hatcher had an important message most women could benefit from hearing. Where I disagree is I'm not buying the claims she wasn't expecting to create an internet stir by posting the photos. No way.

She has thousands of followers to her Facebook and Twitter accounts. She has a publicist, an agent, and more. She's a seasoned and successful actress. If she knew people were blabbing about her experience with Botox, she is also well aware of what is being said about her both online and in the press.

Do you believe Teri Hatcher or her representatives have never Googled herself or has no idea of all that she's doing online? C'mon now. Next, I'm supposed to believe Superman would have no interest in her in real life?

Reports say that Teri Hatcher didn't even know the press could lift stuff and write about it, but regardless she is glad she sparked a conversation that brings women closer to self-acceptance. As more and more women post photos of themselves in online dating profiles, perhaps she has done some real good with her Facebook photo album.

Now, here comes "The Naked Truth" behind Teri Hatcher's Facebook photos wearing no makeup. It is her "plug. " Women can now check out more issues for them on GetHatched.com.

Then there's the matter of Desperate Housewives. TV series. Perhaps it's just a coincidence that the TV series is about to begin its 7th season on ABC. The timing of Teri Hatcher's latest round of publicity won't hurt ratings one bit, will it?

This season's newcomer to Desperate Housewives is Vanessa Williams, another actress who is herself a stunning beauty. I've met her when she wasn't wearing makeup. She's still beautiful. Maybe we'll get a peek inside her bathroom next.
