How to Clear Gravel
- 1). Rake up the gravel using a strong rake. Before clearing the gravel, rake up large areas into a pile.
- 2). Shovel gravel into a wheel barrow. Fill up the wheel barrow and transport gravel to another area of your yard. If you have nowhere else to put your gravel, fill up the bed of a pickup truck. You can transport the gravel to your area dump or another designated site in your city. You can also post a message on a local forum or in the classified section of your local newspaper to see if anyone would want to purchase or take the gravel for free.
- 3). Continue to rake the remaining gravel into piles. Try to use a shovel to pick up as much as possible.
- 4). Vacuum any remaining gravel with a yard or wet/dry vacuum. Once you have raked as much gravel as you can, you can use a small shop vac to remove the remaining pieces. Remember to empty your shop vacuum often to prevent clogging.
- 5). Use a power broom to remove gravel. A power broom can also be used to remove debris such as gravel or snow. You can rent a power broom from a local home and garden store.
