How to Change a GE Washer Front Load Belt

    • 1). Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet. Pull the GE washer away from the wall so you can work on the back.

    • 2). Turn off the hot and cold water supply faucets. Unscrew the hoses from the back of the GE front-load washer.

    • 3). Remove the four screws holding the rear panel in place. Remove the rear panel.

    • 4). Loosen the motor bracket nuts with the socket wrench.

    • 5). Slide the belt off of the pulleys.

    • 6). Install the new belt around the transmission pulley and clutch pulley.

    • 7). Tighten the motor bracket nuts.

    • 8). Replace the rear access panel. Install the screws that hold it to the GE washing machine.
