- 1). Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet. Pull the GE washer away from the wall so you can work on the back.
- 2). Turn off the hot and cold water supply faucets. Unscrew the hoses from the back of the GE front-load washer.
- 3). Remove the four screws holding the rear panel in place. Remove the rear panel.
- 4). Loosen the motor bracket nuts with the socket wrench.
- 5). Slide the belt off of the pulleys.
- 6). Install the new belt around the transmission pulley and clutch pulley.
- 7). Tighten the motor bracket nuts.
- 8). Replace the rear access panel. Install the screws that hold it to the GE washing machine.
