How to Get Rid of Antivirus 08
- 1). Press the "Ctrl," "Shift" and "Esc" keys at the same time to start the Task Manager.
- 2). Click the "Processes" tab in the Task Manager's window.
- 3). Select "Antvrs.exe" from the list of processes and click "End Process" at the bottom of the window.
- 4). Repeat Step 3 for "AntiVirus2008.exe," "AntvrsInstall.exe" and "AntvrsInstall[1].exe".
- 5). Close the Task Manager.
- 1). Go to the "Start" menu, type "regedit" in the "Start Search" box and hit "Enter" to start the Registry Editor.
- 2). Browse to and delete the following registry entries:
HKEY_USERS\Software\antivirus 2008
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run "Antivirus"
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Antivirus
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Antivirus
Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce\3P_UDEC
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce "3P_UDEC"
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Code Store Database\Distribution Units\3BA4271E-5C1E-48E2-B432-D8BF420DD31D - 3). Close the Registry Editor.
- 1). Go to the "Start" menu, type "cmd" in the "Start Search" box and hit "Enter" to start the command line window.
- 2). Type "regsvr32 /u shlwapi.dll" in the command line window and hit "Enter" to unregister the DLL. Type "regsvr32 /u wininet.dll" in the command line window and hit "Enter" to unregister the DLL.
- 3). Close the command line window.
- 1). Go to the "Start" menu, type "AntiVirus 2008.lic" in the "Start Search" box and hit "Enter." Delete all search results.
- 2). Repeat Step 1 for "shlwapi.dll," "wininet.dll," "AntiVirus 2008.lnk," "Uninstall Antivirus.lnk," "AntiVirus2008.exe," "AntvrsInstall.exe," "AntvrsInstall[1].exe" and "Antvrs.exe".
- 3). Restart your computer.
