How to Strip Terrazzo Floors
- 1). Sweep the entire terrazzo floor with a push broom to remove all dirt and dust.
- 2). Fill a bucket with a mix of water and liquid floor stripper according to the manufacturer's instructions. Insert a mop into the stripper solution and apply it to the terrazzo floor in a thick layer. It is fine if the mixture pools on the floor.
- 3). Attach a black scrubber pad to a rotating floor scrubber and plug the cord in. Hold the handles tightly and squeeze the trigger to begin rotating the pad. Push the machine over the terrazzo floor in a slow motion until you reach the end. Turn around and walk back across the floor, continuing the process until you scrub the entire floor.
- 4). Turn off the floor scrubber and move it aside. Plug in a wet vac and suck up the water and the stripped wax.
- 5). Fill a clean bucket with 1 gallon of water and a pH neutral rinsing solution. Apply the solution to the floor with a clean mop just as you did before. Remove the water using the wet vac.
- 6). Fill the bucket a final time with clean water and mop the floor with only the water solution to remove all traces of the cleaners from it. Wait until the terrazzo floor is completely dry before walking on it.
