Do I Need to Dry Orange Seeds Before Planting?
- For best results, plant orange seeds as soon as possible after removing from the fruit. Rinse seeds to remove the sugar and plant them without drying.
- If you need to store orange seeds for later planting, rinse the seeds and dry them on a paper towel just enough to prevent fungal growth. Keep them out of sun and away from heat. Store them in a plastic bag in the refrigerator.
- Plant fresh orange seeds 1/4 to 1/2 inch deep in a sunny, well-drained spot. Orange trees grown from seed tend to be thorny and produce more seeds than grafted plants.
