How to Troubleshoot a Wagner Power Sprayer

    • 1). Plug the power cord into a different wall outlet if the motor will not run. Either the electrical outlet is not working, or the motor is defective.

    • 2). Turn the control knob counterclockwise if the motor has a low hum and does not spray. If the knob is turned too far, the sprayer will not work properly.

    • 3). Tighten the suction tube if the motor is operating properly, but the unit does not spray. If the suction tube is loose, the sprayer cannot engage.

    • 4). Refill the paint container if the paint sprayer is spitting. If the reservoir is low, air will be sucked into the tube along with paint.

    • 5). Turn the flow control knob clockwise to reduce the pressure and flow if there is excessive fogging. Too much pressure causes this problem.

    • 6). Release the trigger at the end of each pass if the motor starts to overheat. Running the sprayer continuously can cause overheating problems. Releasing the trigger periodically allows the motor to cool.
