Where Can You Learn Korean?
- Consider Korean universities, which offer Korean language programs for American and international students. The programs are organized by difficultly, from basic Korean to college level Korean. According to Korea's official tourism website, some of the universities that offer Korean language programs include Seoul National University, Hanyang International University, and Sogang University. Each university requires its own unique registration process in order to be accepted into the university--including submission of diplomas, personal references, application fees, tuition fees and copies of important legal documents, such as birth certificates and passports.
- View official Korean government and media websites, which also offer language programs online. Korea's official tourism website offers Korean language lessons from a basic to advanced level; the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) also offers conversational and advanced language courses. Other websites not approved by the government of South Korea, such as learnkorean.com, offer free Korean language programs.
- Try language learning programs that are offered on DVDs and CDs. Examples of learning programs available on CD or DVD include Rosetta Stone and Speak to Me. DVDs are often more expensive.
