    Dishwashing Soap

    • Dishwashing soap is an antibacterial cleaning solution that will remove rough dirt and debris from the surface of the vinyl. To use it, mix hot water in a bucket with 2 tbsp. liquid dish soap until the water is soapy. Apply the soapy water to the vinyl with a sponge. Work from the bottom of the vinyl to the top to ensure that the vinyl dries at the same time. If it dries in stages, it will be different colors.

    Scrubbing Brush

    • Use a scrubbing brush to remove tougher stains such as bird droppings, rust or dried grout. Brush the vinyl siding until you remove as much of these stains as possible. Be careful not to scrub so hard that you remove the paint on the vinyl siding along with the stains. Use a long-handled scrubbing brush to make your job easier.

    Oxygen Bleach

    • Oxygen bleach will help you remove tough stains such as mold, mildew or old rust stains. Oxygen bleach does not contain chlorine and it will not damage the vinyl siding. To use it, mix it according to the manufacturer's instructions and apply it to the surface of the vinyl. Let it sit and then hose it off with clear water.

    Hose

    • Always rinse the entire side of the vinyl with a hose. Rinse from the top of the vinyl to the bottom to ensure that all of the cleaning solution is gone. Be aware that rinsing the cleaning solution off the vinyl siding might push it onto bushes and flowers. If the cleaning solution has a high or low pH, it might kill the plants.

    Pressure Washer

    • Use an adjustable pressure washer to remove superficial dirt and debris from the surface of the vinyl siding. Point the pressure washer horizontally at the vinyl siding so that you don't force the water up the vinyl siding and into the back of it. Also, use low pressure on the pressure washer to ensure that you don't damage it.
