    • 1). Fill out and print the notary public application. To locate the application, visit the Nevada Secretary of State website's homepage. On the upper navigation bar, click on "Licenses," and then "Notary" in the drop-down menu, and "Forms and Fees" in the secondary drop-down menu. Click on "Application for Appointment as a Notary Public (PDF)" for a downloaded copy of the notary application.

    • 2). Take the Notary Education/Training Course at a participating local office. For a list of all classes and locations, start at the Nevada Secretary of State homepage and select the "Licenses" tab. In the drop-down menu, select "Notary," and in the secondary drop-down, select "Training and Class Information." On the subsequent page, select the next available class and register for the course online. Classes cost $45. If you complete the course, you will be given a Certificate of Completion, which must be attached to your final application package.

    • 3). Obtain a $10,000 surety bond from a state-authorized bond insurance company in your area. For a list of Nevada surety bond companies, visit the Nevada Division of Insurance's website. From the homepage, click on the "License Lookup Tool" on the left-hand navigation bar.

    • 4). Bring your surety bond and state- or government-issued personal identification to the Clark County Clerk office, which is located at 200 Lewis Avenue. 5th Floor, Las Vegas, NV. 89155-1601. Submit the surety bond with the county clerk and take your oath. The County Clerk will give you an oath notice of proof to attach to your application package.

    • 5). Mail your completed notary application, oath notice of proof, a money order or check for $35 paid out to the Nevada Secretary of State and your notary coursework Certificate of Completion to Secretary of State Ross Miller, Notary Division, 101 N. Carson Street, Suite 3, Carson City, NV 89701-3714.
