- 1). Insert the Windows XP CD in the computer.

- 3). Type "cd i386", press "Enter", type "winnt32 /checkupgradeonly" and press "Enter" again. This will check to ensure that your old Pentium MMX processor can run Windows XP.
- 4). Click on the option to "Install XP".
- 5). Select "Upgrade" from the drop-down box.
- 6). Click the button to accept the license terms and enter your product ID.
- 7). Press "Next" to begin the upgrade.
