Wind Farms, What Are They And Is This The Future Of ALL Electricty?

Maybe. Wind farms are areas that usually consist of vast open plots of land sometimes hundreds of acres. On these plots you'll find many wind turbines, all clustered together. They are always erected in places where you'll have plenty of wind currents, without the wind, well the blades will not turn. The electricity that is generated at a wind farm is sold to electricity companies that provide the electricity to people living in cities and towns. In some countries like China, the government passed a law that all energy created from wind farms must be bought out, 100%, buy the companies that need and use it. Sounds like a good deal for everyone.

Here is just one publicly traded wind farm company that stock investors may want to have a look into;

Far East Wind Power Corp., ticker FEWP

According to a definition on WikiPedia;
A wind farm is a group of wind turbines in the same location used for production of electric power. Individual turbines are interconnected with a medium voltage (usually 34.5 kV) power collection system and communications network. At a substation, this medium-voltage electrical current is increased in voltage with a transformer for connection to the high voltage transmission system.

Spain, Denmark, and Germany are Europe's main wind energy producers. A large wind farm may consist of a few dozen to several hundred individual wind turbines, and cover an extended area of hundreds of square miles, but the land between the turbines may be used for agricultural or other purposes. A wind farm may be located off-shore to take advantage of strong winds blowing over the surface of an ocean or lake.

The world's first wind farm consisting of 20 wind turbines rated at 30 kilowatts each was installed on the shoulder of Crotched Mountain in southern New Hampshire in December, 1980.

The largest onshore wind farm is Florida Power & Light's Horse Hollow Wind Energy Center, located in Taylor County, Texas. The Horse Hollow project operates 421 wind turbines and has a capacity of 735 megawatts.

What is stock trading, "Buying" and "Selling" stocks and can I Make Money?

Buying and selling in stocks, sure for many it's a frightening experience, but it doesn't have to be that way. The important issue is for investors to do their due diligence or what we always refer to as DD. This means doing some research on the company you are interested in. Means reading their latest press releases, going to their website, and hopefully they have one, if not it could be a red flag, but not always. Also you could read their corporate financial filings. Another sometime overlooked aspect of finding a good company, and that we take for granted, is to look around in your own city. What businesses do you see that are always busy, and building more stores. I know in my area I always see Walgreens, CVS and Rite-aids going up. And sometimes right across the street from each other. Then you have your Wal-marts, Targets, Best Buys, etc. Is the parking lot full, when you go in, do you see big ticket items, like TV's, and do you see full shopping carts on your average day, or are customers buying everyday necessities, toilet paper, soap, food, etc. Then we come to the little unknown stocks, mostly penny stocks. These stocks can be dangerous to play with if you don't know what you are doing, and they can be just as rewarding. Again, the same rules should apply to the larger NASDAQ and Fortune 500 companies. Of course many penny stock players could just be playing a momentum swing, get in cheap and sell it higher. Isn't that what stock trading is all about no matter what level you're playing on? Ask Warren Buffet, or Bill Gates.

Fear: Fear is the biggest driving force to losing your investment, we buy a stock for $20 the next day it's down to $18, panic sets in, you're up all night. You decide to place a sell order in the middle of the night to execute the next day, you feel better now, and you can sleep for the night, and maybe you get out of bed after the market opens, you run to your computer to log in and you see your order was executed at $18 and you feel better, I didn't lose you say. BUT, you still follow that stock, the what ifs start to kick in, and 3-4 days later it's $22 and then $25, then $30! And then do you feel lousy. This happens all the time. FEAR is the biggest factor to losing your money. If you trust a company and you did your homework, you're better off buying, and not looking at it for a few weeks. Micro-managing does no one good.
