4 Simple Steps to Becoming a Better Blogger
At least I hope you are, especially if you're trying to build a business with your blog.
Just the simple act of blogging will not build you a successful business.
You've got to become a great blogger.
You've got to be able to write blog posts that engage people and get them to take action, and you can't do that without following a plan to improve your blogging as time goes on.
There's no real tried and true system to help you improve your blogging, but there are some steps you can follow that will, if practiced consistently, greatly improve your blogging and help you build your business.
Simple Step #1 - Blog Early, Blog Often.
OK, the first part of this tip is simply my own personal view.
I don't have any evidence to back it up, but I do believe that you should blog early, like early in the morning.
That doesn't mean you have to get up at 4AM every day and write a blog post.
It means that you should publish your posts early in the day, before 9AM.
People have a better chance of seeing your posts before they head out the door and start their work day.
Catch them early.
Secondly, blog often.
Blog as often as you can, and be consistent.
If you decide to blog every day, commit to it and follow through.
Your readers will appreciate it.
Simple Step #2 - Read Other Blogs in Your Niche.
People ask me all the time, "How do I find topics to write about?" when it really couldn't be any easier.
Find a group of bloggers in your niche that deliver quality content.
Now, don't be so sleazy as to just copy and paste what they're talking about.
Look around and see what topics are being discussed and use that for inspiration.
Great content ideas are all around you, you just have to look for them.
Simple Step #3 - Network with Other Bloggers.
If you really want to become a better blogger, you need to hang out with bloggers.
Get to know people that are doing what you are doing.
Don't go hanging out with bloggers that aren't building a business if your goal is to build a business with your blog, that won't help you at all.
You need to surround yourself with people that think like you and are doing the things you want to do.
Pick your company wisely, and then dive in and be a part.
Simple Step #4 - Keep a Blogging Notebook.
This doesn't have to be an actual physical notebook, it can be a note file, spreadsheet, or any other type of document on your computer.
Or you can go old fashioned and get yourself a notebook or journal to jot down your ideas.
You shouldn't try to force yourself to sit down and write a blog post without any inspiration at all.
Keep your ideas in one place that you can reference when you're ready to write and you'll always have a stack of ideas to choose from.
