How to Spray Tomatoes for Bug Control
- 1). Blend the garlic, peppers and 1/3 cup water in a blender until the garlic and peppers are pulverized.
- 2). Strain the blended mixture into a small jar. Stir the vegetable oil and soap into the chili-garlic mixture.
- 3). Combine roughly one-quarter of the concentrated mixture with 1 gallon of water in the spray bottle. Label the jar and store the remaining concentrate on a shelf for later use.
- 4). Spray the tops and undersides of tomato leaves. Spray enough so leaves are damp but not dripping.
- 5). Spray every couple days, especially following rain or morning dew. Reapply in two weeks if insects continue to harm the tomatoes.
