How to Sanitize a Batch Freezer After Making Gelato or Ice Cream
- 1). Pull the mixing bowl out of the freezer and wash with warm water and soap. Make sure that you get all of the residue off of the bowl.
- 2). Fill a gallon bucket one half inch from the top with hot water. Use the bleach bottle cap to measure two capfuls of bleach and pour them into the bucket.
- 3). Place the bowl into the bucket and let sit for one minute. Take the bowl out of the bucket and set aside to air dry.
- 4). Dip a rag into the bucket to dampen the rag. Wipe all other surfaces on the batch freezer with the damp rag. Let the batch freezer dry for thirty minutes.
