- 1). Turn off your IBM Thinkpad.
- 2). Find your dock's security key. If you are facing the computer, the key is on the back of the right-hand surface of the laptop. It takes the form of a blue key-head.
- 3). Turn the key counterclockwise to unlock it.
- 4). Close your IBM Thinkpad's display.
- 5). Find the "Eject" and "Eject Request" buttons. The former is the button on the top, right corner on the top of the dock; it has an eject symbol on it. The latter is directly above the "Eject" button.
- 6). Press the "Eject Request" button.
- 7). Press down the "Eject" button. Hold it until the computer begins to rise up from the dock.
- 8). Put one hand on either side of the laptop.
- 9). Lift the laptop upward off of the dock.
