How to Make a Black Magic Cat With Socks
- 1). Begin with the body. Fill the black cap, tights, and the socks with poly-fill stuffing. Fill them mostly full, but leaving at least 2 1/2 inches below the top of each item.
- 2). Twist the two pieces of floral wire together, and push them into the long sock. Any extra wire left out can be folded down onto itself inside of the sock.
- 3). Trace and cut out two triangle pieces from the black felt as the cat's ears, and cut two smaller triangles from the gray felt. Glue the smaller gray triangles onto the center of each "ear." Also cut 12 claws and six whiskers from the gray felt.
- 4). Cut a small orange triangle from the orange felt, and use hot glue to place it in the center of the top of the knit hat. Hot glue the ears and wiggly eyes on, then hot glue each whisker, three on each side of the orange nose.
- 5). Glue the small mouse to the mouth area. Hot glue the small gray claws to the closed ends of each of the shorter socks and the tights. Glue three claws to each.
- 6). Center a strip of duct tape over the opening of the knit cap to keep the stuffing in. Tape it using duct tape laced behind it--sticky side facing away from the cap--to the bottom edge of the top window outside.
- 7). Use the duct tape to tape the smaller socks (front paws) on either side of the head at the 4 o'clock and 8 o'clock positions, then let them hang down over the tape used to secure them.
- 8). Go inside the house, and tape the tail, open end, to the open end of the tights at the crotch area. On the inside of the window, tape the back half of the body to the lower window at the top near the latch. Let these legs and tail hang over the securing tape as well.
