    • 1). Fill the sink with hot water and soak the new seal while you remove the old one. This will improve the flexibility of the piece.

    • 2). Insert your fingers under the old seal and pull upward to expose the screws. These screws secure a number of pieces together, including the metal retainer the contains the seal.

    • 3). Use a screwdriver to loosen the screws. Start in one corner and work around the door. Do not remove the screws because they also secure the door liner. Just loosen the screws by turning them counterclockwise for one or two turns.

    • 4). Slide your fingers under a loose portion of seal and pull the old piece off. With the screws loose, the metal retainer will pull forward enough that the door seal will come free.

    • 5). Attach the new seal underneath the metal retainer. Start in one corner of the door and feed the gasket up into the retainer. Insert the gasket the same way the old one sat. The open side that slides up to expose the screws should face downward.

    • 6). Tighten the screws as you go, turning them clockwise. Do not make the screws tight. You may need to adjust the gasket. After the gasket is fully on the door, close the door and look for gaps and wrinkles. Make adjustments if needed before tightening the screws.
