    Infidelity

    • Divorce Guide reports that infidelity is the second most common reason for ending a marriage. While many couples decide to forgive their partner for their indiscretion, others find it too hard to look past this and are too hurt by the cheating. According to statistics gathered by Menstuff.org, 22 percent of men have admitted to cheating at least once in their married lives, while 14 percent of women also admitted to affairs while being married.

    Financial Issues

    • Financial issues has been cited by Divorce Guide as the most common reason for divorce in America, with approximately half of all divorces coming down to money issues. Whatever the reason for money becoming tight, financial problems can put a massive strain on a relationship due to the stress it causes either person. When the pressure gets to be too much, a person can see a side to their partner they weren't aware of before, and if this becomes irreconcilable, can lead to divorce.

    Sexual Issues

    • When a married couple has been together for a while, the spark they felt upon first meeting can soon subside into normal everyday life. While this can be discussed and worked through, sometimes the pressure that comes with the expectation to perform is too much; if a partner is repeatedly rejected by the other, this can lead to resentment and low self-esteem. Divorce Guide states that couples who are similar in age can have mismatched libidos, with women peaking in their 30s, while men peak in their late teens.

    Parenting Technique

    • Many married couples who have children have very different ideas about how to raise their offspring. Unless compromise is a big factor in joint parenting, tensions are often created by the different ways each partner deals with their child. Divorce Guide reports that around two-thirds of all divorces cite issues with parenting as a reason for the separation.
