How to Kill Spiders With House Products
- 1). Pour one cup water and one cup corn syrup into a medium-sized cooking pot. Bring the mixture to a boil; then reduce the heat to medium and allow it to simmer for five minutes.
- 2). Remove the mixture from the heat and allow it to sit until it is cool enough to touch.
- 3). Spread a thin layer of the mixture onto index cards or cardboard scraps. Cover as many cards as possible with a 1/4-inch layer of the mixture.
- 4). Set the homemade sticky traps around your home where you have noticed spiders, including under the sink, behind the toilet and in your mud room.
- 5). Allow the traps to remain and check them often. The spiders will become ensnared on the sticky traps, which are then discarded in an outdoor garbage can.
- 1). Roll up a newspaper or magazine and walk throughout your house. Whenever you notice a spider, hit it with the magazine. Pick up the spider carcass with paper towel and throw it into the garbage.
- 2). Remove any spiderwebs and spiders from inside the home, porch and outside the home with a vacuum. Use a vacuum's hose attachment or a hand vac to get rid of the unwanted spiders, their webs and eggs. Empty the vacuum in an outside trashcan.
- 3). Catch spiders with your hands or gently grab them with a paper towel. Walk outside and release the spiders in a wooded area or anywhere else far away from your home.
- 4). Destroy any outdoor spiderwebs that are not easily accessed with a garden hose. Spray the spiderwebs not only destroys the webs, but also the spiders and eggs found there as well.
