How to Configure KnowledgeTree on CentOS

    • 1). Click "Applications," then navigate through "Accessories," and click "Terminal" to open a terminal window in CentOS.

    • 2). Type "su" and press "Enter." Type the super-user password and press "Enter." Type "yum install openoffice.org*" to automatically download and install OpenOffice.org to your system. When the installation is complete, the window will show "Installation Complete!" at the bottom of the screen.

    • 3). Type "yum install knowledgetree-ce" to automatically download and install the latest version of KnowledgeTree to your system. Enter your MySQL password when required during the installation process.

    • 4). Open your web browser and type "http://127.0.0.1/KnowledgeTree" into the navigation bar, and click "Next" when the window opens up. Read the license and click "I Agree" at the bottom. Select the "(Default) installation and click "Next" again. Click "Next" on the next screen once the system does the PHP checks. Click "Confirm" on the next screen if you do not need to make any changes to the default settings. Click "Next" on the next screen. Type in a database name, administrator name and password and click "Next." Click "Confirm" and then "Install" to complete the installation and configuration.

    • 5). Type "/usr/share/knowledgetree/dmsctl.sh start" into the terminal window to start the service.
