As I was doing my research I found two different descriptions for the acronym itself, RSS.
Some websites and blog sites calls it Rich Site Summary and others call it Really Simple Syndication.
They basically refer to the same technology or method.
What is RSS? So, RSS is one of the newest technology, system, method or format to make web users, like you and I, automatically informed of new content on a certain website or blog site.

Darren Rowse of problogger.
net explained that before, web users had to "bookmark" a certain website or blog site if the web user wants to go back and find out if there are new content in that particular website or blog site.
So, what a web user usually does is bookmark and manually go back to the bookmarked sites and visit them to see if there are latest content or blog posts added or published.
So, if you need to know if there are new content on every single website you bookmarked say you have like 50 bookmarked sites, you will have to open all 50 sites one by one and that takes a lot of time.
Worst is, if there are no new content in the sites then you just wasted your time.
RSS makes this a lot more efficient for web users who need to be updated of new content on websites or blog sites.
What RSS does is it updates you when your favorite website or blog site have added new content or information on their site for you to read.
So, instead of you having to do it all by yourself by visiting your bookmarked websites, RSS is a method for you to be informed if there are new available information in your favorite websites or blog sites.
It is great how people are able to discover new interesting methods or technology that makes our web browsing experience fun.
