Whether it's for Father's Day, a dad's birthday, or a special something to make him smile, a gift from daddy's little girl to her dear old dad can truly make his day. While it doesn't matter how expensive the gift is, it does matter that it comes from the heart. - Remind your dad of how special he is with mugs, T-shirts and baseball caps that say "No. 1 Dad". While this may seem a bit cliche, it is a gift that your dad can hold on to as as a keepsake and wear whenever he sees fit. If you're on a tight budget, grab a plain white cap and mug from an arts supply store, along with some fabric paint, and make the "No. 1 Dad" shirts yourself.
Or, if you have a bit more money to spare, head to a party store or shop online for the monogrammed gifts. You can also make the present more special by placing the items you buy or make in a gift basket. - Surprise your dad with a new gadget. The key to this gift is to make sure that the gadget coincides with his hobbies and interests. For example, if Dad is a wine aficionado, consider giving him an automated wine chiller or automatic electric wine opener. Or, if he's into the latest electronic gadget, think about getting him an Ipod or an Ipad if you have a little bit more room in your budget.
For dads who love tech gifts, ABC News suggests a present such as an Eye-Fi share card, which allows Dad to upload his photos wirelessly from his camera to photo sharing and social networking sites. For dads who love to cook, the site suggests the Grill Daddy, which is a gadget that helps clean up grills.
If you're having trouble thinking of an appropriate gift, head into your local gadget store and look around. A great gift should come to mind if you have an idea of your dad's interests. - Surprise your dad with a coupon book. When you're on a tight budget, this is a great way to give him a gift that he will love that costs absolutely nothing. The coupon book should be made out of nice paper and filled with coupons such as cleaning your dad's bedroom, taking out the trash or a homemade father-daughter lunch.
