How to Design Your Own Baby Shower Decorations

    Diaper Cake

    • 1). Roll each diaper in a large pack into a tube and secure it with a thin piece of ribbon. You could also use a rubber band for this step to speed the process up a bit.

    • 2). Stand a layer of rolled diapers on end on your cake platter. The number of diapers you will need will depend on the size of the rolled diapers and the size of your cake platter.

    • 3). Tie a long piece of the ribbon around the entire layer to ensure that the diapers stay in place.

    • 4). Place more diapers on top of the first layer, creating a second layer. Use fewer diapers on the second layer so that it looks like a two-layer cake.

    • 5). Tie a ribbon around the second layer, securing the diapers.

    • 6). Create a third layer by continuing the same process with a fewer number of diapers.

    • 7). Top the cake with a small stuffed animal and tuck other small baby items, such as socks, bibs, rattles and teething toys, between the diapers or underneath the ribbons. You could also top the cake with a cardboard sign that says "Wecome Baby [Name]!" that is glued to a stake and pushed between the diapers.

    • 8). Place the diaper cake onto the food table as a centerpieces and give it to the mom-to-be after the shower.

    Clothesline

    • 1). String a long, thick piece of ribbon from one corner of the room to another; secure the ribbon in place. Allow for enough length in the ribbon that it drapes slightly downward; the ribbon should have a slight swag to it.

    • 2). Snap clothespins onto the ribbon. Consider using pink or blue clothespins, depending on what gender the new mom's baby is.

    • 3). Use the clothespins to hang baby items onto the clothesline, such as bibs, onesies and receiving blankets.

    • 4). Hang other clothing gifts the mother receives at the baby shower onto the clothesline. Some people like to pass around gifts at baby showers, but with this decoration, you won't need to.

    Baby Shower Wreath

    • 1). Wrap a long piece of ribbon around the wreath. Use hot glue to attach the ribbon to the wreath in spots to make sure that it does not unravel.

    • 2). Tie a large bow with the same ribbon and attach it to the top or side of the wreath with the hot glue gun.

    • 3). Attach various baby items, such as shoes, socks, bibs, rattles and toys, to the wreath. Tuck the items underneath the folds of the ribbon to secure them.
