How to Make Your Own Devil Costume

    • 1). Acquire the basics. Every devil, whether classic or classy, needs the requisite red horns, tail and pitchfork, all of which can easily be purchased at any Halloween supply store or Halloween aisle at a nearby discount store chain like Walmart.

    • 2). Dress little devils for the weather. For toddlers and elementary school-age children who will be trick-or-treating, choose costume components appropriate for October weather in your area. A red sweatshirt and matching sweatpants are good for a cold night of trick-or-treating. Buy them a size or two too big in order to layer more warm clothing underneath. Add some red face makeup to the horns, tail and pitchfork and your little one is ready to go.

    • 3). Add some glamorous touches to the basic horns, tail and pitchfork for adult costumes. Men--rent a tuxedo for the evening, forego the red makeup and you're sure to be devilishly handsome. Ladies--a slinky red dress from a local Goodwill or clothing consignment shop paired with red high heels and fishnet stockings will transform you into a devil that guys at the party are sure to remember. Of course, bright red lipstick is a must.

    • 4). Scare your friends and neighbors. If makeup isn't your forte, consider buying a devil mask to add the perfect demonic touch to any red outfit. Masks can be worn year after year, and come one-size-fits-all.
