- 1). Unplug the refrigerator from the wall.
- 2). Open up the freezer compartment. Remove any shelving or other objects that may be in the way.
- 3). Locate the electrical panel at the back of the compartment on the wall. Knock it out with a flat-bladed screwdriver.
- 4). Reach inside the electrical compartment and pull out the wires inside. These wires are usually four in number, and are connected by a socket at the end. Replace the cover for the electrical panel with the slotted cover included in the icemaker kit.
- 5). Connect an extension hose to the end of the icemaker water line.
- 6). Set the icemaker in the freezer. Connect the plug for the icemaker wires to the electrical harness leading out of the back of the freezer. Connect the extension hose for the water line to the inlet on the back of the icemaker.
- 7). Gently lift up the icemaker and align it along the wall of the freezer so the mounting points on the side of the icemaker line up with the holes in the side of the freezer compartment. Secure with screws.
- 8). Replace the shelving beneath the icemaker. Place the icemaker bucket underneath the icemaker.
- 9). Plug in the refrigerator. Turn on the water supply valve for the refrigerator.
